ATL includes NHS ERIC reporting of food waste categories

Waste food has to be reported in four distinct categories under the proposed changes to the NHS Estates Return Information Collection (ERIC) for 2023/24.

The following categories are proposed:

• Food waste generated from Spoilage

• Food waste generated from Production

• Food waste generated from Unserved Meals

• Food waste generated from Plate Waste

Aerobic Technologies have implemented the proposed changes to food waste reporting. We have updated the design of the digester user interface and modified the reporting in our data portal. That allows our NHS clients to easily adopt the changes.

At the end of the year the total for each food waste category is clearly reported in the ATL data portal ready to complete the ERIC return.
